Some people (including myself), consider suit zooming with the mag, is very lame.

What do you think ?

#1, I'm not coordinated enough to do it

#2, I don't care if you do it

I don't even zoom with the xbow. I just know when to fire. A lot of people do it. It's stupid to think that if a suit had zoom that you couldn't fire and zoom at the same time.

on the other hand, how do rebels zoom? I see no suit.

Its no more or less cheap than any of the other advanced techniques the game offers. For that matter, id imagine it generally sees alot less use than bhop, fastballs or gravnades, and is pretty unlikely to be the dominant factor in a match (or used at all) unless the the map in question is huge, open and without cover.

No.

What about the people who use scripts to do it. Iam talking about everyone.

I heard scripts were approved my VALVe. Plus most people say that it's a lot harder to learn doing it manually but benefits you more in the long run.

sv_allow_wait_command 0

Disables scripting. This setting is active on most competitive servers and in the cal.cfg.

If youre playing on a server that has the above command set to 1, the server op has decided that scripting is acceptable, so instant zoom and the like should be expected.

Btw, valve condones scripting- specifically, note this line from the rc file in your config folder:

// run a user script file if present
exec autoexec.cfg

They have to condone it. It's part of their coding as well. They added the disable wait command because they don't use that and it will disrupt these scripts.

suit zoom is a part of the game.

I have suit zoom bound to one of my mouse buttons..but I find I only use it when I am sniping from a semi-protected area.

The tunnel vision reduces your situational awareness, and makes you an easier target.

I don't think it's lame, even though I don't use it much, with exceptions.

I don't use it... and I think its only an advantage on maps with wide areas like dm_overwatch.

Yeah, but that's going outside of the game to gain an advantage which is widely considered lame (not counting custom crosshairs & colors of course)

I'm a newb at this game, so I need all the help I can get. However, Unless the enemy is sniping, and ignoring me, I can't do it because they're running.

Well with the new toggle zoom this whole discussion is kind of moot
