Colored HUD pack

I took 0nti's pack and applied it to the full HUD

Available here
http://www.hl2dm-university.com/crossha ... s_HUDs.zip

I improved on a lot of different things:
1.) I made the damage when on low be very very vibrant in comparison to normally
2.) I made a the zoom reticle a brighter shade of yellow so its a bit more apparent or white to contrast the black though its not helpful in maps like Avalon
3.) The red version flashes green when you get hurt when your really low but only 1 time and when you get hurt more while that low
4.) Made two types of Yellow and Green for maps that involve sand and grass displacements/textures with a dark box around the HUD to make it more visible.
5.) Did the same darkened HUD for light blue and white they tend to fade in with a lot of colors and maps.
6.) Changed the affinity on almost anything to 0 to prevent Bright lights removal of the HUD if any was apparent before it shouldn't be now.

3 best colors are White,Yellow,& Green IMO

Any Suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated
more versions to come more than likely

put the file here:
C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\@yourname\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\resource

Important These Are Useable In CAL

Clickable down here too ^_^

hey neolinkster, there has been an update to my pack. Nothing big, just instructions and crosshair with the additive set to "0". Maybe you find it useful =D.
However, I don't know if WT has uploaded it yet.
oh, btw, as soon as I check this hud, I'll let you know. :)

Edit : Haven't tested any, but I'm liking the screenshots =P.

Don't need to apologize. I'm sure you might have lots of stuff to do, as everyone has, so no problem.

lookin over other topics and getting feedback from other players
I have found, reviewed, and was told about im gonna make a second pack with a few more options.

1.) To have the option of using a crosshair that is outlined or not (works with modded crosshairs)
2.)Black zoom for bright maps that face the sky upwards in an attempt to kill enemies
3.) Possibly and enlarged HUD quickinfo bracket nearly 250% bigger
4.) The actual color black for a crosshair
5.) A fix to the revert to yellow while charging issue(may cause loss of quality but color changing would be rectified)
6.) Change the clarity of the weapon selection to less for people who dont use fastswitch
7.) Possible removed, lightened,or darkened background for the slow weapon switch users

4.) The actual color black for a crosshair
Correct me I'f I'm wrong, but we once talked about the black crosshair in a topic, and said that.
1) Would be really hard to see on dark textures.
2) Grabbed stuff icons do not appear.

Maybe number 1) is up to preference, but 2) could be a problem. Is there a way to modify the color of the crosshair and the icons separately?

for the black crosshair im thinking about for killbox players if you have to pay attention to the icons in the middle of fightin to tell what you got on most of those maps you really need to learn to pay attention to the enemy more ex: dm_killbox_kbh_2 very very bright really easy to see black crosshair on there would be positive there will of course be a Readme.txt with info on the benefits and problems with each color

heres some screenies of the new additions ill be making:

This pic shows the enlarged HUD_quickinfo it can be smaller or bigger as well as the slow weapon select without scanlines

Here is the outlined crosshair yellow facing into the sun even with affinity 0 it would still be nearly impossible to see
Image

Here is the same crosshair in zoom without a black zoom reticle yet but with 1 it would improve the visibility even more

If your not sure what all this file does here is a picture of the green version of the HUD layout

Nice work Neo =D, kudos ; )
BTW, I once modified the position of the hud stuff ( health, ammo, sprint). If you want you could maybe ask people if they would like something like that.
IMO, It wasn't good. I was too used to the default position, and the change would leave me confused. =(

Anyway, just giving ideas =P.

Sweet!!! Just what I've always wanted. A black border around my tiny little plus of a crosshair. Now I can scrap my plans on painting a little black dot in the middle of my screen. :D

2 questions. :)
1) How do you manage to make the zoom color stay the same color of your crosshair, and not turning white?
2) Could you make a version of that bright-dark crosshair with the shape of a dot? I would really appreciate it, and I'm sure others would also :D

I asked neolinkster how to do the black outline, it's *really* incredibly easy:

Basically, in the clientscheme.res there's this section in it:

Crosshairs
{
"1"
{
"name" "HalfLife2"
"tall" "40"
"weight" "0"
"antialias" "0"
"additive" "0"
"custom" "1"
"yres" "1 10000"
"outline" "1"
}

Add the "outline" "1" value and it'll automatically outline your crosshair in black. Really cool.

I ctrl+F for halflife2 in the clientscheme and it gets me to that section in 3 tries (in case you can't find it)
