This is dm_hope. A TDM domination map. Theme is c17, daytime.

Map is built out of a main street level area, a basement and two opposing courtyards, each on the other endmost of the map.
In TDM, each team spawns in its own courtyard and both aim to dominate the top floor in the main building right at the center of the map. Domination point has an RPG. That point is balanced by several high points, acting as snipes. All map’s areas are interconnected and movement was kept as fluent and as smooth as possible as optimizing the map allowed for.
The map plays in both TDM and DM.
I want to thank, AIR, Beef, Nino, MafYa DJ and ILM for their inputs but mostly to Impala whose suggestions greatly transformed and shaped where the map was going. So if you liked it – tell Impala. If you didn’t or have any input – tell me.

The map is in beta stage and therefore it would be best for server owners to watch this space for a final release.

Now we're talking! Great job man! When I saw your early stage project there was just too little direction for me to see where it was heading.

I haven't played it yet, but as far as I can see it's very well executed: nice flow, no much risk of spawn rape, weapon placement seem fine. A few props, but not too many. Some good ol' explosive barrels. If anything, it might be too easy to get your hands on a good weapon for tdm, but I'm sure it's preferable if you want to run it in pure dm mode.

There is an obvious shortage of health packs, but maybe that's a good thing - at least close to the rpg it is.

ATM, I think it comes down to balancing out the two team's chances at getting to the various resources. The ar2 with the balls in the basement seems to be a key down there and one team has a great deal better chance of reaching it first. Not to mention that the other team will want to avoid going down that long passage to get there if there's a chance of balls coming flying. Have you balanced this out by making the opposing team's route to the rpg shorter - the ladder up one side of the rpg building I guess is a great advantage to get there.

So far, looking really good! Should be good with different number of players since it's so well connected, but still fairly sized.

And hey, what's with that doll? :D

hey guys I've been having a problem with this, and the pigpopper's map, they are in bsp.bz2 or something like that, they are not map files?, or do I need to uncompile them, or what?, I mean I can't get into the servers either, what am I doing wrong???

Yes, you can use 7Zip, or I think winrar will work too. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about winrar...

now I've seen the map I've got the following questions:

how was your light_env configured in the brightness setting? in ambient I see that it's blueish to contrast like in the real life with the yellowish color, but it's so good illuminated, how much brightness did you added? I'm new at this and my maps look really bad with my light enviroment, did you inputted much pitch/yaw/roll in the light_enviroment?

I saw a weird decal in a wall, the bloody one, it should be placed on the floor, because if that blood stain would be in a wall it wouldn't look like that, it would rush to the floor ;)

artisticly done the broken parts of the buildings and seamlessly blended into the brushes, great job.

maybe a bit too yellow to be city 17, but an amazing job for sure.

about the yellow c17 - yea, i guess you're right but then again,...the c17 chapters in HL2 are soooo gloomy and bland. i guess i just like sunshine :)

heya. a guy name Keptin has done some modifications to dm_hope and asked for me permission to release it. i've ask him to see what he's done and been busy finalizing the map with the new changes all last night. here's the DL
i'll wait further inputs before releasing a finished name dm_hope.
