ok guys here's the problem:
I am trying to make a map with a 3D model of an architectural building made in a CAD program and then imported into 3DS max and exported in SMD.
No way to import it, is there any way to import models and use them as landscape in HAMMER?

And, I tried the other way, moving the Half Life textures out from SDK to a VTF file, but no way to find the texture files, is there any way to extract the textures??

Thanks in advance.
(note: i have Half Life 2, the episodes, and half life 2 deathmatch)

Is it possible to use the XSI softimage program? There's a plugin for SDK for source models.
Sorry I can't be more help on this subject. :|

I do not know the answer but I can give you some advice. You will probbaly lose some information but look through autocads save as formats and see if anything exist in there that is more universal such as eps format. Also look at 3dsm and see what formats it can open. If you are lucky one will hit the spot. If that does not work try searching the internet for any relevant conversion. Autocad to maya, xsi or anything. Cause you may find a 3 step process which gets you what you need. In mapping we usually can switch to the map format to goto a different engine but most of the time you lose information so be prepared to rebuild parts of the model.
