Charles here with yet another query for all of you!
We all know why we love to hate being Combine, for both teamplay and for 1v1:
- Loud footsteps are loud.
- Super combine is whiter than a Klansman, and three of the four combines' eyes glow, which is a big disadvantage when camping in dark maps such as Lockdown.
... but most of all...
- A zapping sound plays for our enemies to hear when we approach them. Even if we mute our footsteps.
Now, I'd like to know everyone's opinion on a possible solution I may have for the last problem. The remedy is to simply add a stunstick to every section of the map, but hide it in a place where it will not be seen nor interfere with gameplay. With this solution, you'll be hearing the stunstick sound everytime your vis/whatever changes according to your position. That way, you'll be unable to distinguish between Combine and map. I think this'd be an okay way to deal with the stunstick if your map has several lightning/failing lamps/etc. kinds of props and whatnot. Of course, the zapping sound may be distracting if your map has tons of vis's and/or is more of a "nature" map.
