Nice...

It's a nice idea to have a gap separating the player from the RPG, but you should of made it so you couldn't grab it with the gravgun.

also, don't know if it's just me but the added corners seem to be a lot light/brighter than the wall textures, made them stand out like a patchwork quilt.

Clipped so you can't camp them I assume?

EDIT: Hopefully not clipped so you can't jump out them from second level?

Of course! All the clips are thought over carefully and made correctly, unlike dm_overwatch_cu

Few questions and problems.

1. There are a few clips that aren't made on the top pillars of the overwatch building that you can get to via grav jump. Is this intended?

2. I would suggest adding the second entrance down at the bottom towards the stairs in the ar2 room as seen in the cu version.

3. The metal combine wall by the crossbow in the far left corner if you are at the rpg has a problem, props and also rpg rockets, crossbow bolts, smg nades (and basically any props or weapon props can go through it)

If you want this as a league map I would strongly consider fixing these 3 problems.

TY :D

Excuse me, because I'm still a Russian, I did not understand what you mean by 1 and 3. Maybe the screenshots will correct the situation. :)

How soon till you stop being Russian?

I think adding weapons makes it NOT overwatch.

1. Image Where it is RED you need to clip all the way to the top.

3. Image This wall, props (physics objects) go through it.

emm you have not addressed the balance issue. All these clips and round corners are nice but it does not solve the problem of overwatch being a king of the hill map or first team to get rpg and hold it wins.

Have a look at the CU I and the admin team at that time spent a lot of time thinking about weapon placements and balancing out the map. I really don't want to tell you what to do just have a close look at the map and think out how peeps will play it.

"I think adding weapons makes it NOT overwatch."

Didn't you add another Combine Rifle to Lockdown!?!

Overwatch is a king of the hill map that is what I like about it. And it has few weapons that is what makes it overwatch. The importance of getting to the rocket and controlling it is what makes it the map it is. Just like zeta. The difference between overwatch and zeta though is that overwatch has limited health armor and weapons. That is what makes it unique if you want to change that then just play zeta because the map design of overwatch is poor no matter how many clips you fix it is not worth rebalancing the map, just pick a different map which has better brush work.

If you put a bunch of other weapons aroung the map you are just making it more like zeta and we already have that map why do we want 2 that are the same?

I really don't think you have ever played this map in a scrim. If you did you won't be saying 'ohh no don't touch overwatch it fine'. Overwatch is a pub map it was never designed to be played in scrims if it was there would not be such bad design issues with it. I try and point out why king of the hill is not too bad if not everything was put towards the advantage of the people holding it.
One thing is suit right next to rpg for camping player to get rewarded I pretty much lost count the amount of times I land a xbow shot on a guy there just for him to survive and rocket me to death.
Second there is a spawn right under rpg if you spawn there you might as well just kill you self since clans that know the map camp in position waiting for you the spawn.
Third while a team holds mag, shotgun, rpg the other team has pulse rifle (which useless in a open environment) and a crossbow which is fine if the other team did not have suit.
Forth all entrances to the building can be covered even the low floor.

This is nowhere near zeta and even if you add weapons to it it still be no where near zeta. Zeta is far more bigger and there like to two whole areas one that is closed off and one outside area. In overwatch it just one small open map that has a basement. One team can cover almost 70% of the map by holding rpg meaning there is no tactic for the other team to use just pure luck that you can get anywhere near the rpg. The changes made to the CU map made game play far more dynamic and fast past than static game play from the original.

I have pretty much heard all the arguments for not touching overwatch but the changes where made and everyone started to actually like the map not just few that liked winning on it.

Well, Lockdown is a Map control map, where one can dominate the charger and RPG side, so you go and add another hallway and make it harder to get the RPG , take away an orb and then put another rifle on the other side to balance it out.
You still call it Lockdown.

Seems you can change the whole aspect of a map and it's still the map yet someone changes Overwatch around and you insist it isn't the same map.

I just thought that was a little weird.

Fear has played it plenty, it was a league standard the first time around in cal. And was a title map in STA a few times. He is not saying 'ohh no don't touch overwatch it fine' He is saying it is so broken why bother with this map? This is the reason the NA community left this map on the shelf a long time ago. It is a king of the hill style map just like zeta, but zeta is worth while in team play unlike overwatch. Where Overwatch fails in the reguard once it goes to 2v2. The only thing unquie about overwatch is that there is so little health the smg and pistol is a viable primary weapon.

For this map to work would require a new area or somerthing.

As I recall this topic is about this about new overwatch that Fenix has done and in it fearsome is saying don't touch it and that he love how it is. I stated my opinion and experience with this map and how grossly unbalanced it is. Me saying that he hardly played it in a scrim was just the result of my surprise that anyone who actually played this map in a scrim would actually defend it and argue that it is fine as it is and it should not be touched. This was not about if overwatch is a good map, in fact I remember a number of occasions where I have said that the map is fundamentally flawed in other topics. As well nowhere in this topic has fearsome said 'what's the point it broken' well not in those word true he said no clips or balancing would make a difference but it that he says due lack a weapons is what makes it unique and so we should not touch it otherwise it will be a zeta (which I already point out would not be the case). But on that matter I always believe you can make something better even the best things can be improved upon that also goes with the worse things in life. Don't get me wrong I hate overwatch but if I am going to play it I might as well play the one with the improvements than the original with all it design issues.

Now I know you where just defending fearsome from a ranter like me since my post was a bit over the top. But that's only because I am sick and tired of players defending poorly made maps and how they throw their arms up in the air when ever someone wants to improve it, like it some kinda taboo.

I was just explaining that fear has played the map, and his point is that we should be moving on and making new maps, instead of remaking old maps......oh wait that is the only thing the fearsome has done as far as mapping. Take his favorite map and 'improve' it. The status quo for overwatch has not seen a match outside of fios since....05?

But I do agree that overwatch is one map where it needs a ton of work to be made into a good team map.
