black overlays?

all the overlays i've been putting in my map are black, i havent had this problem before, and i googled it and found nothing. I checked for problems, there were some unused angle attributes, blah blah blah, but they're still all black.

has anyone had this problem? i get absolutely no errors while building, there arent any lights or cubemaps yet.. idk, its not a big black cube or anything, its the overlay, just void of any color, 100% black.

Are you placing these over displacement brush's? Post a screenshot if you would :)

nope not on disp brushes, some of them are rounded, but... its the same thing on flat surfaces, and i dont have an overlapping (i did try render order tho).. i'll try n nab a screen later.

to solve this problem we need a bunch of information:

- what tool did you use? decal- or overlaytool?
- are they custom overlays or from valve?
- where do they appear black? editor? ingame? both?
- correct configuration of VHE?
- screenshot would be interesting

absolutely no lights in your map? thats not good :p this could be a reason for that strange behaviour.

It's an early build, there is a sky box texture surrounding the map, i just have been putting detail into how the architecture is not the lighting yet, but i always start out this way, and have never had a problem like this before... again.. i'll nab a screen shot

figured out what the problem was.

if you're running with HDR enabled, but dot compile with HDR selected, this shit will happen.
