For those who heard bad bad bad bad bad things about the bad bad Vista,
I suggest you visit this site for VISTA tuneup : http://www.vlite.net/about.html

download at : http://nlite.boot-land.net/vlite/vLi....installer.exe

vLite ( Vista Lite)

roflQuote:
vLite is a tool for customizing the Windows Vista installation before actually installing it.

Main features are:

* hotfix, language pack and driver integration
* component removal
* unattended setup
* tweaks
* split/merge Vista installation CDs
* create ISO and burn bootable CD/DVD

Windows Vista from Microsoft takes a lot of resources, we all know that. vLite provides you with an easy removal of the unwanted components in order to make Vista run faster and to your liking.

This tool doesn't use any kind of hacking, all files and registry entries are protected as they would be if you install the unedited version only with the changes you select.

It configures the installation directly before the installation, meaning you'll have to remake the ISO and reinstall it. This method is much cleaner, not to mention easier and more logical than doing it after installation on every reinstall.
i sincerely hope you will be successful in tuning your PC and can run high end games with no problem on vista

Good day to you

Aside from the blue screens, and graphical stuttering i was getting in hl2dm (which hopefully i fixed last night).....AND the fact that i had to completly re-install after a blue screen made windows not even exist anymore..........its allright. Oh and the fact that i had to reinstall before that because my network stoped working randomly, etc, etc.
Its pretty good, the mouse feels different in vista i think, a bit better too.
Im also finding it to be more user freidnly, which is good for the lazy person.

I'll "upgrade" to vista a year after they put out their first service pack lol. You know that shit aint gonna work right either. Their probly rushing their asses off trying to get a fix out, that once its out its ognna be crap too. Vista in my mind seems like it was released too soon. I mean it kinda seems like they were using Vista to try and usher the market into "The Next Generation" of computing, Just about everyone had to upgrade their hardware to even consider running it....seems like a sceme to get people to buy the latest in the greatest on the market. Granted with comps people do that anyway but with thier release of vista it seemed to me they were saying "If you wanna be on the cutting edge buy a new computer to support this operating system."
