Yeah.. would help plus come to think of it, is a requirement :) lol.. I have to figure out what's wrong with mine, I have a driver moster cuz they keep disapearing

I have been very lucky with plantronics myself (until now but is nto the mic's fault) fairly inexpensive and good quality for a gaming set.

POMP

If you plan on doing some serious scrims or CAL, you will need it.

Yeah you should get a mic, once you have one you can start using it for so much. Everyone should have one, maybe you even do have one and you do not know? Built into a monitor or something.

I use a sennheisser one and it works fine but I do not know much about them I guess cause it doesnt matter how other people hear me.

A Shure SM-58 is good for vocals and the SM-57 is DYNOMITE for miking Guitar cabs.
You need a PA system and a mike stand. Then run the output to your soundcard.
Maybe a three amp with crossover solution- 18" subs, 12" mids , and horn tweeters.

You'll be ready for the rock with that.

I have the Logitech Digital USB mic and people have reported a big improvement in voice quality over the mic attached to my old headset. Its a good stand alone mic for $20, can't really go wrong with that. needs calibration out of the box but thats expected. Heres a link, http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6836111601

I use these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6826106152

Cheap, and lightweight. The bigger headsets hurt after a few hours.

I have a rocketfish digital Cellar and ppl seem to hear me fine in Teamspeak using it. The problem I have had is that Ventrilo  for some reason wont pick it up and I have a second analog mic hooked up just for Vent. Let me know if you have better luck with it.

I don't think thats necessarily true, when ever i scrim there is usually no communication what so ever and I seem to do fine, well for the most part. but then again everyone is different.
