Where abouts is this information stored? Its not in the config like for quake3

Almost looks like something you would find in the registry.

It's not a problem since you have the choice of setting it from the launch options

Example: -w 1680 -h 1050

It is a problem for games like HL1, sometimes the resolution gets out of sync (bigger than actual screen) and it's a pain in the ass to restore it if you are not an advanced user of Windows.
