BAT is easier to configure, whilst SM is more modular, you expand on the core functionality by adding SM plugins. Depends wether you just need basic kick, ban, or wether you'll need more functions in the future.

I'm pretty much in love with SourceMod.

From an administrative standpoint: Pros: there are a ton of SM plugins and it seems like you can always find one for exactly what you want to do. Cons: there are a ton of SM plugins and sometimes you have to go hunting or even write your own plugin if you can't find exactly what you're looking for.

From a programming standpoint: Pros: it's fantastic and easy to write new capabilities or mod existing ones. Cons: the language, SourcePawn, is too simple, to a fault, and makes ordinarily simple things complicated. (data structures mostly)

For me the Pros far outweigh the Cons.
