anti cheat for hl2dm

Hey guys

X-ray gaming (anti-cheat) has now given support for hl2dm. I emailed these guys sometime ago so it could be used in CU and they finally got round to giving hl2dm support which is great.

Anyway though this be some interest for you guys since you running community based leagues now.

This is a program which takes screens from your game randomly. A way to detect wallhackers by just using a simple program. Maybe you guys wanna check it out.

it also logged any programs you were running, and took ss's of your desktop.
Xray doesn't do that, it takes ss's when it thinks something funky is going on and uploads them to the site. Sounds pretty cool. Would be very hard to get around and would be automatic rather then needing someone to dispute.

well yea good thing about x-ray is that they upload screenshot of what your actual see on your screen and upload it straight after you out of the game. Then its uploaded to the site onto your profile account for everyone to see, if your using a wallhack it will show up. But as well this does scan for cheat programs and shows up in the the players profile as bad process.

The man problem in running a community league is trust because when your not part of a gaming organisation like CAL or esl there no anti-cheat program like they use plus you can't use their programs because it licensed only for their league games. At least with x-ray you have this free to use in any league and they regularly update their programme to catch cheats. I'm hoping we are able to implement this in CU next season.

Indeed. Only thing is it wont catch aimbots.

Actually it does pick up aimbots it scans for any programs running that shouldn't be (e.g aimbot) which would be flagged as a bad process on the user account.

there are already hacks that get around those random screen shots.

yes there are anti-anti cheats out there but there no grantee that they get by undetected for long due to frequent updates. Many gaming leagues use them such as esl and peeps find way around it but then they do a update and those guys get caught out so really its a question of is a hacker willing to take the gamble.
