making a server off my comp?

I'm not sure where to put this but i was thinking about trying to run a little 10 man server off my comp but im not sure how i have googled it but i wasnt sure if it was what i needed. I'm also not so sure what kind of spec you gotta have to run that? anyhelp

run a speedtest and find out your upload speed. If your upload is around 600 kilobit per second then you should be fine running a 4 person server. Do not run a 10 person server from home.

the easiest way is to goto tools under steam and then install source dedicated server.

i got 649 so i should be albe to run a 4 man server right? but how would i make the server deticated on the sdk server tool?

i would liek to bump this just cuase i havent figured it out yet i tired getting the thing from laggfree .com or w/e but it didnt seem to work any help?

Are you using a router?

I can only get my server to run with a router.

I just open up SDS, fill out the details, make sure you select Internet as your network, then click start.

Then I go to http://www.whatsmyip.org to find my internet IP, then add it to my Favourites and see if it shows up.....if it does it's work, if it doesn't
